Having had a couple of great leaders myself and hearing from my candidates what’s important to them in their  future boss, I came across this interesting article that surveyed the Australian workforce on what was  important to the majority of the country.  The top 5 that were competency, ambition, being open minded and  innovative,  being caring and emotionally intelligent, and cooperative with the ability to work as a team. Not  surprisingly, the biggest pet hate for Australian workers was being micromanaged and having no autonomy.  For further reading please refer to this article.

The Fairfax Employment Forecast breakfast was held in Brisbane this morning and was well attended by a range of industry specialists. The Forecast provided an accurate picture of the current and future Australian market and the expected growth and forecast to February 2014.

Analyst firm Gartner today released its top 25 global supply chain list today with Apple claiming the top spot for a 3rd successive year with Unilever making a significant move upwards, and tech firm Lenovo coming out of nowhere to take the number 20 spot.

I think the statistics with regards to consumer decision-making is particularly interesting. On average, consumers are reading four reviews before making a purchase, and the proportion of social media research that results in a purchase has increased to 58%!
