As of this week, u&u launches its new IT Division, with the appointment of two new members of our team – Leah Moule (Partner) and Sharene Webster (Senior Associate). Leah and Sharene join us from Experis (the executive recruitment division of Manpower) where Leah was the Regional Manager for Queensland and NT, and Sharene the top performing IT recruiter nationally. Leah and Sharene have many years experience specialising in permanent and contract IT recruitment, and pre-recruitment experience in the IT sector. This morning we were thrilled to host “The Neuroscience of Leadership” – a breakfast seminar presented by Paul Taylor, world-renowned Exercise Physiologist, Nutritionist and Neuroscientist, and founder and Director of the Body-Brain Performance Institute (and the “Bio Age” test).

{ ASX Ten Days of Gain }

With all of the recent natural disaster challenges, it’s nice to hear some good news on the economic front. In particular, the Australian share market (ASX 200) has been doing a great job, with 10 straight days of gains only ending today with investors taking profits prior to the start of reporting season next week. SMH Online reported today that for the month the ASX 200 was up 4.94 per cent, the best monthly performance since January last year. Read more from the smh.com.au article

{ Good Start to 2013 for the ASX }

It seems the S&P/ASX 200 Index has started the year well, today hitting 4738.4,  with NineMSN reporting today on an inflow of funds into the market prompted by improving investor confidence in 2013 and low deposit interest rates. Big performers today were Boral, FKP and Energy World Corporation. Let’s hope the trend in investor confidence continues, and the mining sector rebounds. I guess only time will tell. Stay tuned…
