I was lucky enough to attend the “Women In Engineering & Overseas Qualifed Engineers” seminar last night, held at the Aecom building in Bowen Hills. The topic for the evening was “Inspired Women” and the two speakers, Azam Zeinalzadeh from QGC and Jila Noroz from Corrosion Specialists PTY, impressed me greatly.
Their efforts to make a career for themselves within the Australian engineering industry really are remarkable. Both speakers admitted that they never gave up doing whatever was needed to integrate themselves quickly, both personally and professionally, into the Australian way of life and the engineering sector.
