{ Maximising the effectiveness of HR data }
27.02.12
It always interests me to keep abreast of what is happening internationally in the HR marketplace. In particular with the global financial crisis having had such an impact on the UK and with the effects still being felt there and a little further abroad in the Eurozone.
I recently reviewed this piece on the Personnel Today website written by the Co-Director of the Centre of HR Excellence at the Henley Business School and a study they undertook. The article talks about the Ulrich model which was implemented some 10 years ago and also the “three-box model” of HR Business Partners, Centres of Excellence and Shared Services. It questions whether there is a need to return to metrics and data as HR Professionals are trying to balance growth and the need for cost management. As we all know some HR professionals focus on daily tactical and operational needs whilst others are more strategically focussed looking at the long term requirements. This article talks about the “tact-tegic” approach. I hope you enjoy reading it….
