{ Queensland population surges }
21.06.12
The first of the 2011 Census results were released today with Queensland’s population seeing strong growth in the last 5 years. Since the last census in 2006, the population has grown 11% (428,209). Only Western Australia posted stronger growth with 14.3% growth. Queensland is now home to 4,332,739 people of which 1,041,842 live in Brisbane. This means that of Australia’s 21,507,717 population, just over 20% live in Queensland.
Across our business, we have certainly seen a continuation of candidate movement from other states as well as from overseas, with key attractions being the quality of work that our resources and infrastructure development has created across many industries, the quality of life and the Queensland lifestyle and weather.
