An International Financial Services Company are looking for a hands-on AI Engineering Manager to lead their AI Engineering team + develop solutions.

The role

• Lead and scale a growing Forward Deployed Engineering capability;

• Set the engineering culture, standards and direction for the team;

• Permanent role – up to $270,000 + Super + Bonus; and

• Flexible Hybrid model – Syndey CBD.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of Forward Deployed Engineers;

• Connect AI initiatives across the business, identifying opportunities for reuse;

• Combine people leadership with credible, hands-on AI engineering knowledge;

• Establish reusable frameworks, engineering standards and best practices;

• Guide AI solutions from prototype through to secure production deployment;

• Partner with business, AI enablement, architecture, data, security and risk teams; and

• Prioritise meaningful transformation opportunities and know when AI is, and isn't, the right solution.

About you

• An experienced engineering people leader with strong technical credibility;

• Deep understanding of production GenAI, including agents, RAG, guardrails and evaluation (Azure preferred);

• Strong enterprise engineering foundations across cloud, APIs, data and delivery;

• Able to influence senior stakeholders while remaining credible with engineers; and

• Pragmatic, commercially minded and motivated by delivering tangible business outcomes.
