u&u. Recruitment Partners is partnering with a Queensland Government Department to recruit AO3 Housing Support Officers for a new Regional Housing Coordinator Pilot Program, supporting subsidised teacher housing across Queensland. This important initiative is designed to strengthen teacher attraction and retention in regional communities by improving the day-to-day coordination and administration of housing support services.

The Opportunity

As a Housing Support Officer, you will provide day-to-day administrative and coordination support to Regional Housing Coordinators and school staff to help manage subsidised teacher housing. Your work will play an important role in supporting teacher attraction and retention in regional communities by ensuring housing processes are efficient, accurate and well-coordinated.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and service-focused administrator who enjoys working in a busy environment, building relationships with stakeholders, and spending time out in the community. The role involves regular travel to various sites across the region during working hours, so it will suit someone who is comfortable being on the move and engaging directly with local schools and communities.

In this role, you will:

  • Prepare and process tenancy and leasing documentation, correspondence, and housing records;

  • Maintain accurate data in housing or tenancy systems and prepare basic reports;

  • Coordinate tenant entry and exit processes, inspections, and routine communications;

  • Assist with preparing documentation required under legislation and departmental policy;

  • Respond to enquiries from school staff, tenants, and other stakeholders, escalating complex matters where required;

  • Provide general administrative support including scheduling, travel bookings and other logistics to support the pilot programme; and

  • Travel regularly to sites across the region to support housing coordination activities and stakeholder engagement.

Required Experience

We are keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate strong administration skills, sound judgement and a professional, customer-focused approach. Experience in government, property, housing, education, or community services will be highly regarded.

To be successful, you will bring:

  • Solid administration experience in a busy and process-driven environment;

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy across data, records, and documentation;

  • Confidence working with systems and databases and producing basic reports;

  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills;

  • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines;

  • A collaborative, service-focused approach and alignment with public sector values; and

  • A willingness to travel regularly across the region during work hours and enjoy being out in the community.

Benefits

This is a great opportunity to contribute to a meaningful statewide pilot programme supporting teachers in regional Queensland. You’ll receive a competitive hourly rate, casual loading, and superannuation, while gaining valuable experience within a Queensland Government environment. For candidates already based in Toowoomba, it offers the chance to step into a locally based role with strong purpose and practical impact, with the added benefit of extension potential beyond the initial six-month term.
