The Opportunity
An opportunity has become available for an AO3 Paralegal Support Officer to join a busy legal team. This role will provide high-quality paralegal and administrative support to legal staff while assisting senior support staff to ensure the efficient delivery of services across the team.
12-month contract, with potential for extension;
Based in Brisbane CBD; and
AO3 – $51.12 p/h + super.
This position will suit someone who has experience providing administrative or secretarial support within a legal environment and enjoys working in a fast-paced setting supporting complex legal matters.
Key Responsibilities Include
Providing paralegal support including filing and serving legal documents and preparing client files;
Assisting with discovery processes including document inspection and preparation of document lists;
Supporting trial preparation, legal research, and drafting routine correspondence and legal documentation;
Coordinating meetings, conferences and interviews while maintaining organisational systems; and
Assisting with time recording, billing processes and administrative support across the legal team.
Required Experience
The ideal candidate will bring previous experience supporting legal professionals within a law firm, government legal practice or professional services environment. You will be highly organised, adaptable and comfortable managing competing priorities within a fast-paced legal setting.
You will Ideally Demonstrate
Experience providing administrative or secretarial support within a legal environment;
Knowledge of legal documentation processes, filing systems and court procedures;
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities;
High attention to detail and ability to work accurately under time constraints; and
Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
