The Opportunity
We are seeking an AO3 Rostering Officer to support workforce planning and HR functions within a fast-paced operational environment.
In this role, you will coordinate staff rosters, manage leave and timesheets, and provide administrative support to ensure staffing levels meet operational needs and comply with relevant agreements.
This position is based within a secure government facility, requiring adherence to strict procedures. While primarily administrative, you should be comfortable working in a structured, operational setting.
As a Rostering Officer, you will be
Preparing and maintaining staff rosters in line with operational requirements;
Processing roster changes, timesheets, and leave requests;
Monitoring leave balances and coordinating annual leave planning;
Responding to staff enquiries related to rostering and HR matters;
Maintaining accurate records and data across systems; and
Supporting reporting, recruitment administration, and general HR tasks.
Required Experience
We are seeking candidates with experience in rostering, workforce coordination, or administration within a structured environment. You will bring:
Experience managing staff rosters, ideally in a 24 / 7 or operational setting;
Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines;
High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping;
Sound problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and in a team;
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders;
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion; and
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and willingness to learn new systems.
Highly regarded
Experience in government or highly regulated environments; and
Exposure to HR processes including leave management, timesheets, or recruitment support.
