The Opportunity
An exciting permanent opportunity exists for an experienced HR leader to step into the role of Manager Human Resource Services (AO7), based in Mount Isa.
Reporting to the Executive Director, People, Culture and Planning, this role provides high-level strategic leadership across human resources, organisational development and industrial relations. You will partner closely with executive leadership to shape workforce strategy, strengthen organisational capability and drive a culture of engagement, safety and performance.
Leading a multidisciplinary HR team, you will oversee employee relations, workforce advisory, compliance, HR data and learning and development functions. This role plays a pivotal part in influencing organisational design, managing complex case matters, leading industrial negotiations and ensuring HR frameworks align with strategic priorities and legislative requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing authoritative HR and IR advice to Executive leadership;
Leading organisational development and workforce strategy initiatives;
Managing complex employee relations and disciplinary matters;
Driving workforce reporting, HR systems and data-informed decision making; and
Leading and developing a high-performing HR and workforce team.
This is a highly visible leadership role offering genuine strategic impact within a complex service delivery environment.
Required Experience
To be successful, you will be a strategic and commercially minded HR professional with demonstrated experience operating at a senior level within a complex public sector, health or similarly regulated environment.
You will bring strong industrial relations capability, executive advisory experience and the ability to lead teams through change and organisational growth.
You will demonstrate:
Proven experience developing and implementing HR strategy;
Extensive knowledge of employment legislation and industrial relations frameworks;
Experience managing complex disciplinary and employee relations cases;
Strong leadership capability with experience building and mentoring teams; and
Advanced stakeholder engagement, negotiation and influencing skills.
Experience working within geographically dispersed or operationally complex environments will be highly regarded.
