Job Details

Our State Government client is seeking an experienced AO7 Right to Information (RTI) and Privacy Officer to join the team on temporary basis. This is a 3–6 month temporary assignment based in the Brisbane CBD, with hybrid working arrangements available following an initial settling-in period. Working 38 hours per week, the casual hourly rate will range from $88 to $95 plus super.

Key responsibilities:

This is a busy and varied role responsible for managing RTI and information access requests, including subpoenas and non-party disclosure, in accordance with relevant Queensland legislation. You will provide high-level advice on privacy and information access matters, support and review Privacy Impact Assessments, and assist business areas in identifying and managing privacy risks.

Key Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience and strong working knowledge of the Right to Information Act 2009 (Qld) and Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld);

  • Experience managing complex information access or privacy matters within a government or regulated environment;

  • Strong advisory and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to influence and build trusted relationships;

  • The ability to interpret and apply legislation in practical, solution-focused ways; and

  • Experience managing competing priorities in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
