The organisation

EPEC Group is a rapidly growing Queensland success story. Founded in Brisbane in 2019, it has built a team of around 200 specialists connecting renewable energy to Australia's grid, bringing strategy, feasibility, engineering modelling, EPC delivery and compliance together under one roof with a single point of accountability. With a Board-endorsed strategy to significantly scale the business through organic growth, diversification into new sectors and markets and a disciplined programme of acquisitions and partnerships, EPEC sits at the centre of Australia's energy transition with the ambition and the plan to match.

The role

Accountable to the Board and working day to day with EPEC's entrepreneurial owners and the Chief Operating Officer, the Chief Financial Officer will help set the direction of the business to deliver significant growth. The role leads financial, capital and investment planning, carries the acquisition and partnership agenda, sets the commercial governance that protects margin on major pursuits and leads the Finance, Legal, Risk and Compliance, IT, data and AI and Business Processes and Systems functions. This is a mandate to shape how a rapidly growing business is run, with the backing of the Board and the authority to act.

The person

You are a contemporary, strategically oriented finance executive, degree qualified with 15 or more years’ experience including executive finance leadership in a project based business. You have co-developed strategy with a CEO, COO or Board and led the financial, capital and investment planning to deliver it, you bring corporate development and M&A experience from identification through to integration and you have led enabling functions beyond finance. You bring proven experience scaling processes and systems to keep pace with ambitious growth, building the foundations that let a fast moving business grow with confidence and control. Above all, you have the judgement and commercial depth to be a trusted partner to the Chief Operating Officer and the Board through a period of significant growth.

Why this role matters

The energy transition is the largest opportunity the industry will see and EPEC has the growth record and a clear plan to capture it. The Chief Financial Officer sits at the centre of that plan: funding it, protecting margin as the business scales, executing the acquisition agenda and building the systems and governance that will carry EPEC through its next phase of growth. Few finance roles offer this combination of scale, ambition and influence at this stage of a business's development.

This is a Brisbane based role.
