About the Role

As a Compliance Officer (Animal Management), you will play an important role in supporting community safety, responsible animal ownership and positive outcomes for residents across Ipswich.

This is a highly community-facing role where you will engage with animal owners, residents and stakeholders to provide advice, education and guidance, while also undertaking investigations and compliance activities to resolve animal management matters.

About You

Having worked in a similar compliance, regulatory, investigations or community-facing role, you will bring sound judgement, confidence working with legislation and the ability to manage a varied workload.

You will have:

• The ability to undertake investigations, gather information and make sound, fact-based decisions;

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage with community members and manage challenging and sensitive situations;

• Good time management skills and the ability to prioritise competing tasks in a responsive operational environment;

• Resilience, adaptability and a collaborative approach to working as part of a supportive team;

• An understanding of compliance or regulatory functions; experience in local government or animal management will be highly regarded; and

• A current “C” class driver’s licence.
