Our client is a large, complex and highly regulated organisation operating in Queensland with a significant footprint across the State.
They play a critical role in delivering essential infrastructure that supports the growth and connectivity of communities across the region.
The Role
Reporting to the Company Secretary, this role supports the Board and key committees to meet governance, legal and regulatory obligations while driving uplift across governance frameworks and reporting standards.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will:
Lead governance support across key Board committees;
Improve the quality, consistency and effectiveness of Board and Committee papers;
Partner with the business to embed strong governance practices;
Contribute to governance frameworks, policies and key corporate documents; and
Provide insight on governance trends, risks and organisational themes.
This is not a coordination role. It is a partnering role, with a strong focus on influencing, uplift and adding value at a senior level.
Importantly, this position has been designed with succession planning in mind, offering a clear pathway to step into the Company Secretary role over time.
About You
You are an experienced governance or company secretarial professional with proven exposure to Board and Committee environments.
You bring:
Strong experience in corporate governance within a complex or regulated environment;
Advanced capability in drafting and reviewing Board and Committee papers;
The ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders and influence outcomes;
Sound judgement, commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach; and
A collaborative style, with the confidence to challenge where needed.
A tertiary qualification in law, finance or commerce is required.
You will be someone who can build relationships across a business, navigate different working styles and step in to lead when required.
