Commercially Minded | Operationally Embedded | Manufacturing Environment.
This is a rare opportunity for a finance professional who thrives in the heart of operations — not analysing numbers from afar, but understanding what drives them on the factory floor.
We are partnering with a well‑established global manufacturing organisation with deep local roots and a strong operational footprint. As the business continues to strengthen performance and operational discipline, this role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate costing, meaningful financial insight and strong decision‑making across the site.
The Role:
Reporting to an experienced Plant Controller, you will sit at the intersection of finance, operations and supply chain. This is a hands‑on, site‑based role where your work directly influences manufacturing performance, cost accuracy and operational outcomes.
You will be the go‑to finance partner for leaders across production, planning, purchasing and logistics — translating data into insight and helping the site understand the true drivers of cost and performance.
This is not a back‑office accounting role. You will be visible, engaged and actively involved in understanding how products are made, how costs move, and where improvements can be made.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role you will:
Product Costing & Manufacturing Finance:
Maintain and manage product costing data, including material prices and labour rates;
Run and monitor the standard costing process;
Analyse manufacturing cost variances and identify performance drivers; and
Partner with operations, supply chain and purchasing to ensure accurate cost inputs.
Inventory & Cost Accounting:
Support period‑end cost accounting activities, including inventory valuation and adjustments;
Ensure BOM structures and manufactured product costs accurately reflect operational reality; and
Assist with stocktakes, reconciliations and inventory controls.
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
Support the monthly close process for the site;
Prepare site‑level financial reports, dashboards and cost analysis; and
Complete balance sheet reconciliations, particularly inventory and fixed assets.
Planning & Performance:
Contribute to budgeting and forecasting for manufacturing costs; and
Provide analysis on cost trends, variances and operational performance.
About You:
This role will suit you if you:
Bring experience in cost accounting, manufacturing finance or commercial accounting;
Have exposure to standard costing or inventory accounting in a manufacturing environment;
Enjoy being close to operations and understanding how products are made;
Are analytical, detail‑oriented and curious about the drivers behind the numbers;
Build strong relationships across finance and operations; and
Have experience with SAP or large ERP systems (highly regarded).
What This Role Is Not:
This role will not suit someone who prefers purely desk‑based accounting, limited interaction with operations, or a narrow focus on reporting without understanding the operational context. Credibility here is earned through curiosity, accuracy and partnership.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
Genuine operational impact in a complex manufacturing environment;
A visible role partnering closely with site leadership;
Hands‑on exposure to product costing and manufacturing finance;
A stable global organisation with strong local presence; and
Clear development pathways into broader commercial or plant finance roles.
How to Apply:
If you are a finance professional who wants to deepen your manufacturing expertise and make a meaningful impact on site performance, we would welcome your application.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted directly for a confidential discussion.
