About the Company

Join a forward-looking, data-driven organisation focused on modernising data engineering practices and enabling strategic, data-led decision-making. You will work in a collaborative environment that values secure, scalable, and efficient data solutions to drive innovation and operational excellence.

The Role

As a Data Engineer, you will design, build, and optimise enterprise-grade data pipelines and cloud-based infrastructure to deliver high-quality, reliable data. You will work across analytics, automation, and digital product teams to ensure scalable, secure, and governed data delivery that underpins business intelligence and innovation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines across cloud and on-premises systems using tools such as Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or Databricks;

  • Optimise data ingestion, transformation, storage, and compute resources for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency;

  • Implement automated workflows, DataOps practices, and monitoring to ensure pipeline reliability and data quality;

  • Embed security, governance, and compliance controls across the data lifecycle, including metadata management and lineage tracking; and

  • Collaborate with analytics, platform, and business teams to deliver reusable, high-value data products and support advanced reporting and AI/ML use cases.

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in data engineering, ETL/ELT development, or cloud data platforms;

  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based services (Azure, AWS, GCP) including data lakes, warehouses, and orchestration tools;

  • Strong SQL and Python or equivalent scripting proficiency;

  • Experience implementing data quality frameworks, version control, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code for data workflows; and

  • Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, schema design, and performance tuning.

Desirable

  • Experience with DataOps, MLOps, or automation frameworks;

  • Exposure to AI/ML pipelines and analytics tools such as Power BI or Tableau; and

  • Experience in regulated or government environments with strong governance and privacy obligations.

Benefits

  • Lead data engineering initiatives that underpin analytics, automation, and digital products;

  • Work with modern cloud-based data platforms and orchestration tools;

  • Collaborate across a high-performing data, analytics, and technology community;

  • Professional development opportunities and exposure to emerging data engineering practices; and

  • Flexible working arrangements and supportive team environment.
