The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced finance executive to step into a senior leadership role overseeing enterprise-wide financial accounting and operational functions within a large and complex government environment.

Reporting into senior executive leadership, this position will lead financial accounting operations, statutory and financial reporting, taxation, transactional services and asset management, while partnering closely with stakeholders across the organisation to support strategic decision-making and operational performance.

The role will also play a critical part in driving contemporary financial management practices, improving operational service delivery and strengthening governance frameworks aligned to whole-of-government objectives.

Key responsibilities Include

• Lead enterprise-wide financial accounting and operational finance functions;

• Oversee statutory reporting, taxation, governance and compliance activities;

• Drive financial transformation and continuous improvement initiatives;

• Partner with executive stakeholders to provide strategic financial advice; and

• Lead and develop high-performing teams within a complex government environment.

Required Experience

We are seeking a senior finance leader with extensive experience operating within large, complex or highly regulated environments. You will bring strong technical financial expertise, executive stakeholder engagement capability and experience leading operational finance functions at a strategic level.

To be successful, you will demonstrate:

• Extensive experience leading financial accounting and reporting functions;

• Strong knowledge of governance, compliance and public sector financial frameworks;

• Experience overseeing taxation, asset accounting and financial operations;

• Proven ability driving transformation and process improvement initiatives; and

• Highly developed leadership, stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
