About

Landcom is the NSW Government’s land and property developer, working closely with government and industry partners. The company’s mission is to unlock land, increase housing supply and create more affordable, sustainable and inclusive communities across New South Wales. Its work combines a strong commercial mandate with the opportunity to deliver meaningful social and economic outcomes for the people of NSW.

Landcom is now seeking a Director, IT and Digital Enablement to lead its technology function and help translate an ambitious transformation agenda into practical business outcomes.

This is not a traditional IT Director appointment. Technology sits at the heart of how Landcom will improve operational performance, enable its people and deliver against its broader organisational priorities. The role calls for a commercially minded leader who can connect technology decisions to business outcomes, bring people with them and turn innovation into measurable progress.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Executive General Manager, Operations & Culture, you will set the direction for technology while remaining closely connected to the business. The opportunity is to move beyond strategy and make AI, automation and digital enablement real across the organisation. This means understanding how Landcom operates, identifying where technology can remove friction or improve decision-making and creating the confidence and alignment needed to deliver change.

You will also bring the commercial judgement to balance innovation with governance, risk and responsible investment. You will provide informed leadership, challenge vendors and internal teams and ensure technology priorities remain aligned with Landcom’s wider purpose.

You Will Be Responsible For

  • Leading Landcom's technology function across cyber security, applications, infrastructure, data, service delivery and digital enablement;

  • Delivering the organisation's technology roadmap, AI strategy and future digital direction;

  • Partnering with business leaders to deliver technology-enabled change from business case through to benefits realisation;

  • Providing executive, Board and Audit & Risk Committee reporting, ensuring strong governance, risk management and strategic oversight;

  • Leading Landcom's cyber security, privacy and compliance obligations, while balancing innovation with commercial outcomes;

  • Managing strategic technology partnerships across Microsoft, Oracle and key managed service providers;

  • Driving AI adoption and digital innovation to improve operational performance, decision-making and business outcomes; and

  • Leading, mentoring and developing a high-performing technology team and culture.

About You

  • 10+ years' experience in senior technology leadership roles, including Director-level responsibility within a complex organisation;

  • Proven experience building and leading high-performing teams, developing capability and creating a strong performance culture;

  • Strong commercial and delivery leadership experience across technology, transformation and digital enablement initiatives;

  • Deep understanding of cyber security, governance, risk and compliance, including ISO 27001, Essential Eight and privacy obligations;

  • Experience with Microsoft technologies, including Azure and AI, with exposure to Oracle or similar enterprise platforms highly regarded;

  • Demonstrated success delivering AI, technology and business transformation outcomes from strategy through to execution;

  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience engaging Boards, Audit & Risk Committees and senior executives;

  • Strong track record managing strategic technology partners and delivering projects from business case through to benefits realisation; and

  • Well-developed networks across government, property, infrastructure, or similarly complex operating environments will be highly regarded.

The Leader We Need

Beyond the technical brief, Landcom is looking for a particular kind of leader:

  • Commercially minded. You understand that technology is not the outcome. It is an enabler of stronger business performance, better decisions and improved services;

  • People First. You are genuine, honest and comfortable sharing ownership. You influence through judgement, trust and collaboration rather than authority;

  • Practical about AI. You can move from ideas and roadmaps to real use cases, adoption and measurable business outcomes;

  • Clear, but considered. You can challenge constructively and make decisions without becoming overly forceful or losing the support of your stakeholders;

  • Governance-led, not governance-bound. You know how to move innovation forward while managing risk, investment and organisational accountability; and

  • Enterprise focused. You are interested in the whole organisation, not only the technology function, and you can see how people, processes, operations and systems must work together.

Why Landcom?

  • A genuine opportunity to shape how technology, AI and digital enablement support an organisation delivering meaningful outcomes for communities across NSW;

  • Strong executive sponsorship for AI, innovation and broader organisational transformation;

  • Regular exposure to the executive team, Board and key governance committees;

  • A role combining public purpose with commercial thinking, governance and operational impact;

  • Longer-term potential to broaden your enterprise leadership experience and develop towards more expansive operational leadership opportunities;

  • Flexible hybrid working environment that supports balance and performance; and

  • Attractive remuneration package reflecting the strategic importance of the position.
