The Opportunity
We are seeking a Dispute Resolution Officer (AO5) on a contract basis for a State Government agency in Brisbane. In this role, you will work within a dynamic team delivering dispute resolution services to the public, managing complaints, and facilitating conciliation processes. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in a challenging and rewarding environment while contributing to fair and sustainable outcomes.
As a Dispute Resolution Officer, you will:
Analyse and manage complaints to determine the most effective resolution pathway;
Facilitate conciliation conferences with professionalism, empathy, and integrity;
Maintain accurate records and documentation to ensure transparency and accountability;
Respond to public enquiries, providing clear guidance and appropriate referrals; and
Share insights and feedback to support continuous team learning and improvement.
Required Experience
We are seeking candidates with dispute resolution or complaints management experience, or the ability to quickly apply relevant legislation. You will need:
Understanding of anti-discrimination and human rights frameworks (or the ability to learn and apply quickly);
Strong communication and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders;
Ability to manage multiple priorities and administrative tasks independently;
Resilience and professionalism when handling confronting or sensitive matters; and
Experience facilitating conciliation or dispute resolution processes.
