Your new Company:
Your new company operates at the intersection of engineering and creativity, producing large-scale animatronic systems used across global theme parks and live productions.
Known for delivering complex, high-performance builds, your new company has carved out a niche; working on projects that demand precision, durability, and innovation. You’ll be joining a tight knit, highly skilled team working on animatronic products that are far from ordinary!
Your new role:
You’ll be joining the fabrication team in a hands on role focused on building structural components that form the backbone of these systems.
Working from detailed drawings, you’ll cut, prep, and weld a variety of materials including tube, plate, and machined parts. The work requires a high level of accuracy, as what you produce directly impacts movement, reliability, and overall performance.
You’ll also be involved in fixture setup, assisting with fit-up, and working closely with engineers and other trades to keep builds moving and solve problems as they arise. This is varied work with a strong technical edge, well suited to someone who takes pride in precision. You will weld using processes such as GMAW, GMAW‑S, and GTAW to meet required quality standards.
What you need to succeed:
Trade qualified in fabrication/welding or equivalent experience;
Solid background in structural or machinery-based fabrication;
MIG/TIG welding experience with the ability to complete a weld test;
Able to read and work from technical drawings and weld symbols;
Detail-focused with a strong commitment to quality; and
Open to completing a 6GR qualification after starting.
Desirable:
Experience working to formal welding standards (AS1554, ISO, AWS etc.);
Exposure to jigs, fixtures, or controlled fabrication processes; and
Tickets/licences such as Dogging, Rigging, Forklift or EWP.
What you’ll get in return:
Opportunity to work on genuinely different and interesting builds;
Stable, permanent role with long-term scope;
Training and development including formal welding certifications; and
Port Melbourne location, extraordinary office space with games, gym and much more!
