Melbourne | 5 month FTC role | Immediate Start

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, this role will play a key part in the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting across a complex and diverse group.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong and commercially minded Financial Accountant who enjoys working across a broad range of corporate accounting, treasury, reporting and financial control responsibilities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Month-end close, including journals, general ledger management and preparation of financial results;

  • Assisting with the preparation and consolidation of monthly financial statements and management reporting;

  • Weekly cashflow monitoring, forecasting and treasury reporting;

  • Preparation of bank covenant compliance documentation;

  • Balance sheet reconciliations and maintenance of intercompany loan and investment reconciliations;

  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, including cashflow and balance sheet forecasting;

  • Assisting with statutory reporting and the preparation of financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards;

  • Supporting year-end audit requirements and the Group's income tax obligations;

  • Reviewing realised and unrealised gains and losses from hedging transactions;

  • Working closely with stakeholders across the finance function and international subsidiaries;

  • Developing and maintaining reporting templates and dashboards using Excel and Power BI; and

  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, reporting and the efficiency of the month-end close.

About You:

You will be a CA or CPA qualified finance professional with strong technical accounting skills and the ability to operate effectively in a complex, fast-paced environment.

You will bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline;

  • CA or CPA qualification, or equivalent;

  • Experience in financial or corporate accounting within a medium to large organisation;

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability;

  • Advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling;

  • Experience with Power BI and financial reporting tools;

  • Exposure to ERP systems such as NetSuite or Dynamics 365 will be highly regarded;

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across all levels of an organisation;

  • Strong attention to detail, combined with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines; and

  • A proactive mindset and genuine interest in improving systems, processes and reporting.

Experience within the automotive, mobility, energy, infrastructure or technology sectors will be advantageous but is not essential.
