About the Role:
Join a dynamic, growing multi-entity group who are currently expanding their global finance operations and are looking for a technically astute Financial Accountant. This is a 6-month contract for a continuous-improvement-minded professional who loves to streamline workflows, modernise finance operations, and own the end-to-end month-end close cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and execute the end-to-end month-end close process including journals, accruals, prepayments, provisions, and complex intercompany eliminations;
Prepare robust monthly balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts, ensuring timely clearance of reconciling items and audit-ready workpapers;
Actively identify efficiencies in the financial cycle and leverage ERP capabilities to automate manual tasks;
Assist in optimising workflows and support the preparation of monthly management reporting and variance analysis; and
Maintain asset schedules, revenue recognition, and lease accounting entries strictly in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards.
What We’re Looking For:
CA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification is essential;
3–5 years of post-qualification experience in a dedicated financial accounting role;
Strong working knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB/IFRS) and Australian tax compliance (GST/BAS, FBT);
Advanced Excel skills and hands-on experience with modern ERP systems—ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Experience with Power Platform (Power BI/Automate) is highly regarded; and
High attention to detail, strong stakeholder collaboration skills, and a proactive, continuous-improvement mindset.
