Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role presents an opportunity to lead a significant finance operations function at a time of continued improvement and growth. Responsible for multiple transactional finance streams, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient delivery of services today while helping shape the future direction of the function.

How you will contribute:

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will lead the Financial Transactions function, with responsibility for the delivery and performance of payroll, accounts payable, receipting and reconciliation services.

You will ensure these services are delivered efficiently and effectively, maintaining strong governance, compliance and financial control frameworks while supporting positive stakeholder outcomes across the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing team capability, supporting finance systems initiatives and identifying opportunities to strengthen finance operations;

  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, awards, policies and governance requirements;

  • Maintaining effective financial controls and risk management practices;

  • Leading process and system enhancements across payroll and finance operations;

  • Supporting payroll and finance technology initiatives and broader transformation projects; and

  • Developing and mentoring a high-performing team while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

What we’re looking for:
 
This opportunity will suit an experienced finance operations or shared services leader with a strong background in transactional finance. You will bring a practical leadership style, sound commercial judgement and the ability to build strong relationships across a large and complex organisation. Comfortable leading through change, you will have a track record of delivering operational outcomes while maintaining strong governance and compliance standards.
 
You will bring:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience within finance operations, shared services or transactional finance environments;

  • Strong knowledge of payroll, accounts payable, financial controls and governance requirements;

  • Proven ability to lead teams and deliver operational outcomes in a complex environment;

  • Experience implementing process improvements, systems enhancements and business change initiatives;

  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and build trusted relationships; and

  • Relevant qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Business; CPA or CA qualifications will be highly regarded.
