If you’re a Legal Assistant and want exposure across multiple areas of law, this is the kind of role that will set you up long term.

We’re working with a well-regarded national firm looking for a float Legal Assistant to join their Sydney CBD office. You’ll support different teams across the business, stepping in where needed and gaining hands-on experience across a range of practice areas.

It’s a fast-paced, varied role where you’ll build relationships quickly, learn how different teams operate, and develop a well-rounded skillset. Perfect for someone who doesn’t want to be stuck in one team and is keen to grow.

The firm is known for being collaborative and supportive, with approachable teams and a strong appreciation for their legal support staff. It’s a great environment to learn, with people who are happy to show you the ropes and bring you along.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing reception lunch cover as part of the float team (1 hour a day spilt between 2);

  • Supporting different practice groups across the firm;

  • Managing diaries and coordinating schedules;

  • Preparing legal documents and correspondence;

  • Assisting with billing and client reporting; and

  • Opening and closing matters and maintaining files.

What we’re looking for:

  • Around 1-2 years’ experience as a Legal Secretary;

  • Confident, adaptable, and quick to pick things up;

  • Strong organisation and attention to detail;

  • Able to juggle priorities in a busy environment;

  • A team player who’s happy to step in where needed; and

  • Experience with Aderant and iManage is a bonus.
