The Opportunity
 
Reporting to the CFO & EGM Corporate Services, this role operates as a trusted advisor to the CEO, Executive Leadership Team and Board on enterprise risk, audit and assurance matters.
 
You will lead the ongoing uplift of COEX’s enterprise risk maturity, overseeing risk frameworks, strategic risk reviews, internal audit programs and integrity assurance activities across the organisation. This is a role requiring both technical depth and executive presence, with success defined by your ability to influence decision making, foster accountability and navigate complex stakeholder environments with sound judgement and credibility.
 
You will play a central role in facilitating Board and Audit & Risk Committee conversations, translating complex risk concepts into commercially pragmatic insights that support effective risk management and strategic decision making. The position also oversees scheme integrity activities, including fraud detection strategies, scheme compliance assurance and reactive audit frameworks aligned to COEX’s risk appetite and broader strategic objectives.
 
Importantly, this opportunity requires a leader who can balance structure and discipline with practicality and organisational partnership. You will be comfortable constructively challenging thinking, supporting leaders across the business and embedding a mature, transparent and proactive risk culture.

What We’re Looking For
 
You are an experienced enterprise risk or audit executive with demonstrated capability operating within complex, multi-stakeholder environments and engaging effectively with Boards and executive leadership teams.
 
You bring strong expertise across enterprise risk management internal audit oversight and contractor audits alongside the communication skills and judgement required to influence at senior levels. Experience uplifting risk maturity, simplifying frameworks and embedding organisational accountability will be highly regarded.
 
You will be recognised for your integrity, political awareness and collaborative approach, with the ability to challenge constructively while building trusted relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
 
Relevant tertiary qualifications in risk, audit, business, law or a related discipline are expected, with professional certifications viewed favourably.
