Now, Energy Queensland is establishing an Enterprise Portfolio & Investment Management Office (EPIMO) and is seeking an exceptional executive leader to build this capability from the ground up.

This is a rare opportunity to influence enterprise-wide investment decisions, partner directly with the CEO, CFO and Executive Leadership Team and leave a lasting legacy across one of Queensland's most significant infrastructure organisations.

Your opportunity

As the General Manager Enterprise Portfolio & Investment Management, you will establish and lead Energy Queensland's enterprise investment management capability, ensuring investment decisions are strategically aligned, financially sound, regulatorily compliant and deliver measurable value over time.

Reporting into the Chief Financial Officer, you will shape how major investments are prioritised, governed and assessed across Energy Queensland's Network, Customer, Digital, Property and Fleet portfolios. You'll provide trusted, independent advice that strengthens decision quality, enables robust enterprise trade-offs and ensures capital is invested in the opportunities that create the greatest value.

Amplify your impact

You will:

• Establish and lead a new enterprise-wide investment management function of approximately 20 FTE;

• Lead portfolio prioritisation, shaping and capital allocation decisions across a portfolio exceeding $1.5 billion annually;

• Partner with the CEO, CFO, Executive General Managers and Board committees to improve investment decision quality and governance;

• Build and embed enterprise investment governance, assurance and portfolio management frameworks that drive consistency and transparency;

• Create lasting enterprise value by strengthening benefits realisation, improving investment performance and uplifting organisational capability; and

• This role offers exceptional visibility, influence and impact, with direct accountability for shaping how Energy Queensland invests in its future.

What you'll bring

We're interested in hearing from accomplished executives who have led enterprise investment, portfolio management, capital governance or transformation functions in complex organisations.

Essential

• Degree qualification in finance, engineering, economics, business or a related discipline, or equivalent executive experience;

• Extensive executive-level experience in enterprise investment management, capital allocation, portfolio governance and / or large-scale business transformation;

• Proven success establishing or leading an EPMO, enterprise portfolio management or investment governance function within a complex organisation;

• Demonstrated ability to influence, challenge and advise at Executive, CEO and Board level; and

• Strong commercial, financial and strategic capability, with the ability to balance value, risk, affordability and delivery considerations.

We'd also love you to have

• Experience within utilities, infrastructure, transport, government-owned corporations or other highly regulated environments;

• Expertise in investment governance, benefits realisation, portfolio optimisation and capital planning;

• Experience leading enterprise-wide capability uplift, governance reform or organisational transformation; and

• Postgraduate qualifications and / or recognised portfolio, program or project management credentials.
