The Role
Reporting to the EGM Corporate Services, this role leads the Legal function and provides strategic advice across the organisation, including to the CEO, Executive Leadership Team and Board.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and executing the organisation’s legal strategy in line with business objectives;
Providing commercially astute advice on complex legal, regulatory and strategic matters;
Overseeing high-value commercial contracts, procurement and external counsel engagement;
Supporting executive and Board decision making through clear, pragmatic legal guidance;
Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and anticipating regulatory change; and
Building legal capability across the organisation and fostering a high performing team.
This is a highly visible leadership role requiring a balance of technical excellence, commercial judgement and stakeholder influence.
About You
You are an experienced senior legal leader with a strong track record operating at executive level within complex, regulated or multi-stakeholder environments.
You will bring:
10+ years’ experience, including significant in-house leadership exposure;
Strong commercial, corporate and contract law capability;
Proven ability to advise Boards and senior executives on strategic matters;
A pragmatic approach to balancing legal risk with business outcomes;
Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills; and
Experience building and leading high performing legal teams.
