This is a strong opportunity for a capable program support or governance professional to join a complex regional delivery environment and provide high-level coordination, reporting and project governance support across critical programs and projects.

About the Role

In this role, you will provide high-level support services to project managers and team members to enhance the timely and effective delivery of programs and projects. You will work across governance, reporting, data quality, change control and administrative continuity, helping ensure compliance with relevant legislation, organisational policies and procedures.

Based within the North Queensland Region, this role will contribute to region-wide consistency in program oversight, improved audit readiness and stronger governance practices across districts and the broader region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare governance meeting materials including agendas, papers and briefing documentation for regional and statewide steering committees and boards;

  • Coordinate minutes, actions and escalation pathways, supporting timely follow-up and close-out of requests;

  • Maintain program and project change control documentation;

  • Track and close governance actions across programs and projects;

  • Monitor and update risk, issue and dependency registers to support governance reporting;

  • Support administrative continuity and ensure critical governance activities are completed on time;

  • Assist with capacity planning and enable effective use of senior subject matter experts;

  • Ensure program records, evidence requirements and governance documentation are complete and up to date;

  • Standardise and validate the completeness, consistency and accuracy of program data used for governance and reporting;

  • Support governance alignment across districts and the region, improving accountability and audit readiness; and

  • Record district-progressed escalation change requests and support actioning and close-out through the appropriate governance pathways.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring experience in a comparable program, project or governance support role within a complex delivery environment. You will be confident working across competing priorities, coordinating governance processes, and producing accurate, well-presented reporting and documentation.

You will also demonstrate:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;

  • Proven experience in program or project controls, governance or reporting support;

  • High proficiency across the Microsoft Office Suite;

  • Advanced Excel capability for analysis and reporting;

  • Strong PowerPoint skills for executive-level reporting;

  • Experience using project or program systems such as registers, dashboards, SharePoint or similar information platforms;

  • Strong analytical capability, with the ability to interpret and synthesise program data into meaningful insights;

  • High attention to detail, particularly across reporting accuracy, data validation and governance documentation;

  • Sound interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders; and

  • Strong workload management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.

Experience preparing ministerials, briefing notes and executive correspondence will be highly regarded.
