u&u Recruitment Partners is partnering with an innovative, fast-growing legal services organisation who are seeking a highly capable Head of Legal – Wills & Estates to help scale a national, tech-enabled estate planning and probate practice. Backed by private equity, this is a unique opportunity to join a boutique firm at the forefront of technology.

Our client is a leader in modern wills & estates delivery, combining human-centred legal services with digital tools to make end-of-life planning simpler, more affordable and more accessible. Based in Elsternwick, our client has recently moved into stylish corporate offices.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced, personable and commercially minded lawyer to lead and grow a specialist practice within a high-performing, supportive team.

In this role, you will be responsible for a broad mix of Wills & Estates work, including:

  • Drafting bespoke wills, including more complex structures;

  • Reviewing and customising wills submitted through an online platform;

  • Preparing Probate and Letters of Administration applications across multiple jurisdictions;

  • Managing inbound enquiries and onboarding new clients;

  • Contributing to process improvement and legal-tech product development;

  • Supporting more junior staff and contributing to practice leadership;

  • Providing ad-hoc legal support on contracts and related matters; and

  • Conveyancing experience is well regarded.

This position is full-time and based in Elsternwick, Victoria.

About you

The ideal candidate will be bring a solid foundation in Wills & Estates law and conveyancing. You will bring:

  • 5+ years PQE in Wills & Estates;

  • A valid Principal Practising Certificate;

  • Strong interpersonal skills and confidence managing client conversations;

  • Experience with PEXA, RedCrest Probate, and property transmissions;

  • Exposure to multi-jurisdictional estates matters;

  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to identify growth opportunities;

  • A collaborative, can-do attitude and interest in innovation; and

  • Experience with conveyancing and drafting bespoke wills (incl. testamentary trusts) is highly desirable.
