About the Opportunity
This is a rare opportunity to join the Brisbane Broncos as Head of People & Culture, playing a key role in shaping the people experience within one of Australia’s most recognised sporting organisations. Reporting to the Chief of Staff and Strategy and leading a small team with one direct report, this role blends strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. Working in a passionate, energetic and high-performing environment, you will partner closely with leaders across the Club to bring the people strategy to life, fostering a positive and values-led culture that supports engagement, wellbeing and high performance while ensuring strong HR foundations across the business practice are embedded across the business.
Partner with senior leaders on workforce planning, ensuring the organisation has the right capabilities, structures and talent to support future growth and performance;
Oversee the full employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, contracts, policies, systems and broader People & Culture operations;
Provide trusted advice and coaching to leaders on performance management, employee relations matters, and leadership capability;
Drive organisational development and learning initiatives that support employee growth, leadership development, and a high-performance culture;
Capture, analyse and report on people data and workforce insights to inform decision-making and shape future People & Culture strategy;
Work closely with the Chief of Staff and Strategy to deliver key people initiatives and projects that support organisational growth, innovation and continuous improvement; and
Lead and mentor a small People & Culture team, providing coaching and guidance to ensure the delivery of high-quality HR services.
About You
You are an energetic and forward-thinking People & Culture leader who thrives in dynamic environments and is motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful impact. Equally comfortable rolling up your sleeves operationally while contributing to broader strategic conversations, you combine strong HR expertise with creativity, sound judgement and the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels of the organisation.
Key Skills & Experience
Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Psychology or a related discipline, supported by a clear commitment to ongoing professional development;
Proven experience in P&C roles across both smaller, hands-on environments and larger organisations, bringing a strong understanding of HR best practice alongside the willingness to operate operationally when needed;
Demonstrated leadership capability with the ability to mentor others and build trusted partnerships with executives and leaders;
Strong coaching and relationship-building skills, with the emotional intelligence to influence, support and challenge leaders to drive positive people outcomes;
A proactive, goal-oriented mindset with the energy and intrinsic motivation to contribute ideas, think creatively and engage in strategic people discussions that support organisational growth and innovation; and
Experience in environments where governance, compliance and reporting are critical, with the ability to translate people data into meaningful insights.
