We are partnering exclusively with a national professional services organisation to appoint an HR Business Partner based in Melbourne. This is a newly created role within a business experiencing significant growth and change, offering the opportunity to play a key role in strengthening HR capability and partnering closely with senior leaders.
The Opportunity
Following recent acquisitions and organisational change, our client is investing in its people function and establishing a dedicated HR presence in Melbourne. This role is ideal for a commercially minded HRBP who enjoys working close to the business, thrives in evolving environments, and wants to make a tangible impact. You will support a mix of operational and corporate teams nationally, acting as a trusted partner to leaders during a period of integration and growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic people partnering across designated business units, translating business priorities into effective workforce, organisational design and change initiatives, and providing proactive insights on people risks and opportunities;
Performance, talent and leadership development, including coaching leaders on goal setting, feedback, underperformance management and capability uplift, supporting talent reviews, succession planning and leadership development activity;
Hands-on HR operations and continuous improvement, ensuring accurate reporting, data integrity and compliance, while driving improvements to processes, reporting and ways of working in a low-system environment;
Recruitment and workforce growth, partnering with leaders and the talent team on role scoping, hiring strategy, interview processes and offer recommendations for critical and senior roles;
Remuneration and reward support, advising leaders on salary positioning, promotions, retention and equity considerations, and contributing to annual remuneration review processes; and
Employee relations and compliance, managing complex ER matters, investigations and performance processes with confidence, sound judgement and a strong understanding of employment legislation.
About You
6+ years of HR generalist or HR business partnering experience, ideally within professional services, financial services, or legal environments, with a proven track record of delivering commercial, people-focused outcomes;
A tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field;
Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, able to coach leaders and guide decision-making with confidence and commercial insight;
Experience translating business strategy into practical people initiatives, including workforce planning, organisational design, change management, talent development, and employee relations;
Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment, with strong Excel and reporting capabilities; and
Energy, drive, and ambition, a true go-getter who thrives on challenge and wants to grow with the business.
