About the company

Our client is a large, established organisation operating across a complex, multi-site environment throughout ANZ. The business provides sales, servicing, repairs, maintenance and parts across its operations, creating a diverse environment encompassing workshops, machinery, equipment and customer-facing facilities.

This organisation is committed to strengthening its HSE culture and embedding safe, practical and consistent ways of working across its sites. This is an opportunity to join a recognised organisation where HSE has strong visibility across a broad operational workforce.

About the role

Partnering closely with regional executives across, operational leaders and site teams, you will provide contemporary HSE advice and lead the delivery of practical initiatives that strengthen safety culture, reduce risk and improve compliance. You will balance strategic leadership with visible operational support, influencing leaders to take genuine ownership of HSE outcomes.

  • Manage and lead a team of HSE Business Partners across the state;

  • Provide coaching and trusted HSE advice to regional executives, operational leaders and site management;

  • Develop and implement regional HSE improvement plans aligned with the national organisational strategy;

  • Lead cultural engagement and safety leadership initiatives across NSW and ACT;

  • Monitor HSE performance and provide meaningful reporting, insights and recommendations;

  • Build strong relationships across a geographically dispersed business to create engagement, accountability and sustainable improvement;

  • Support sites to apply HSE policies, standards, systems and procedures consistently;

  • Lead regional governance forums, consultation activities and HSE communities of practice;

  • Manage risk mitigation strategies and responses to regulatory, operational and organisational change;

  • Oversee serious incident investigations, assurance activities and corrective actions;

  • Coordinate the delivery of HSE training and monitor mandatory training compliance;

  • Oversee workers’ compensation, injury management and health risk programs; and

  • Support contractor safety, property and fixed operational activities to ensure legislative and industry compliance.

About you

You are an experienced HSE professional who combines strong technical capability with a practical, relationship-driven approach.

  • Degree-level qualification in HSE or significant experience in a similar senior HSE role;

  • Strong knowledge of NSW HSE and workers’ compensation legislation;

  • Experience working with SafeWork NSW requirements;

  • Experience within operational, service, repairs and maintenance or similarly complex environments;

  • Strong coaching and influencing capability, particularly with senior and operational leaders;

  • Experience leading incident investigations, ideally with ICAM or TapRooT capability;

  • Commercial acumen with the ability to balance safety, risk and operational requirements;

  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to challenge, influence and create genuine ownership of safety; and

  • Flexibility to travel across the region as required.
