Are you an experienced HR Business Partner who enjoys being close to the business, working with operational leaders and getting involved in the day to day people matters that come with a large workforce?

We’re working with a well established organisation within the resources sector to find an experienced HR Business Partner to join their team. Based out of Brisbane, this is a 7 days on / 7 days off FIFO role, giving you the opportunity to spend time on site with the teams you support, while still having a good balance of time at home.

About the role

This is a hands on HRBP role where you’ll work closely with operational leaders and employees across site, providing advice and support across a broad range of HR matters.

You’ll be involved in:

  • Partnering with leaders across site and providing practical HR advice;

  • Supporting employee and industrial relations matters, including performance, investigations, grievances and disciplinary processes;

  • Advising leaders on policies, procedures, awards and Enterprise Agreements;

  • Coaching leaders through people management and performance matters;

  • Supporting workforce planning and other operational HR requirements;

  • Working with leaders to improve employee engagement and the overall employee experience;

  • Using HR reporting and data to help leaders make informed decisions; and

  • Getting out into the business and building strong relationships with the people you support.

About you

We’re looking for an experienced HR professional who is comfortable working in a hands-on, operational environment and can build strong relationships with leaders and employees.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Previous experience working as a HR Business Partner or in a similar HR role;

  • Experience within mining, resources, construction or another operational environment;

  • Strong employee and industrial relations experience;

  • Experience working with blue-collar or site-based workforces;

  • Confidence supporting leaders through performance, conduct and other people matters;

  • Experience working with awards and/or Enterprise Agreements;

  • A practical approach to HR and the confidence to provide advice, even when the conversation is challenging; and

  • The ability to work autonomously while also being part of a wider HR team.

Most importantly, you’ll enjoy being out in the business. You’ll be someone who can build trust with operational leaders, understands the realities of a site-based workforce and isn't afraid to get involved when things get busy.

Why consider the role?

This is a great opportunity for an HRBP who enjoys a varied role and wants to work closely with an operational workforce rather than sitting solely in a corporate HR environment. You’ll have the support of an established HR team, while having plenty of opportunity to build relationships with leaders and make an impact across the site.

If you have a mining, resources or construction background and are looking for your next HRBP opportunity, I’d love to hear from you.
