About the Organisation

Genie is a globally recognised brand with a long history of innovation, known for designing equipment that helps people work safely and confidently at height. Part of the broader Terex Group, Genie offers the stability and opportunity of a global organisation while maintaining a focused, close-knit footprint in Australia, where collaboration, relationships and local impact really matter. Genie’s products - including boom lifts, scissor lifts and material handling equipment - support a wide range of industries, and the people behind them are united by a shared commitment to safety, quality and doing things the right way.

About the Role

This is a true end-to-end HR Generalist role, offering standalone HR responsibility for the Genie Australia business. Sitting on the Senior Leadership Team and reporting directly to the General Manager, the role acts as a trusted advisor to leaders while shaping and delivering people strategies that support business objectives. While locally focused, the role works closely with HR stakeholders across the wider Terex Group, with a strong dotted-line connection into the global HR function - providing exposure, collaboration and alignment to broader people initiatives.

  • Provide end-to-end HR leadership across Genie Australia, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, learning and development, payroll oversight, and employee relations;

  • Develop, implement and continuously improve HR frameworks, policies and procedures aligned to business strategy, compliance requirements and Terex Way values;

  • Partner with leaders to drive effective performance management, utilising Workday for performance reviews and development conversations;

  • Oversee employment lifecycle processes, including contracts, remuneration, benefits, workforce planning, employee engagement and exit processes;

  • Ensure payroll governance through accurate checks, balances and approvals across fortnightly and monthly cycles;

  • Support leaders to manage employee relations matters when required; and

  • Drive employee engagement, wellbeing, and learning initiatives across the business, while supporting leaders with WH&S and return-to-work programs.

About You

  • True HR generalist who thrives when balancing operational delivery with shaping strategic initiatives;

  • Tertiary qualifications in HR (or equivalent) and proven experience partnering with senior leaders in complex organisations, with the ability to influence and drive outcomes;

  • Proactive, solutions-focused, and comfortable taking action to address risks or challenges;

  • Highly adaptable, able to manage competing priorities in a standalone role while maintaining focus on outcomes;

  • Confident supporting a geographically dispersed national team, ensuring consistent HR practices, connection, and support across locations; and

  • Visible, approachable, and passionate about culture, engagement, and people development.

Benefits & Culture

  • Be a key voice on the Senior Leadership Team, reporting directly to the GM – Australia & New Zealand;

  • Flexible working: this role can be offered as part-time (0.8 FTE) for the right person;

  • Join a business with clear strategy, proven financial success, and strong sense of direction;

  • Own the HR function for Genie Australia, with the backing of wider HR stakeholders across the Terex Group;

  • Collaborate with corporate global HR functions, gaining exposure to international people strategies;

  • Enjoy a competitive annual bonus that recognises your impact on business and people outcomes; and

  • Work in a culture that values autonomy, visibility, and impact, where you can shape both the business and employee experience.
