We are partnering with a values-led organisation that provides critical services to the community.  With ongoing transformation in the sector, this organisation is navigating growth and service expansion.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Human Resources Manager to join the team, based in Melbourne’s west. This is a hands-on leadership position, embedded within operations and forming part of the site’s senior leadership team.

About the role:

Reporting to an exceptional General Manager of HR, you will lead a small on-site HR team and work closely with the group specialist teams across Employee Relations, Organisational Development and Talent.

Operating in a highly unionised and complex environment, you will provide pragmatic, commercially sound advice while building trusted relationships.

Key focus areas include:

  • End-to-end management of complex employee relations and industrial matters (in partnership with a central ER team);

  • Workforce planning, skill mix optimisation and organisational redesign;

  • Supporting leaders through change, consultation and service expansion initiatives;

  • Driving improvements in HR processes and capability uplift; and

  • Acting as a visible, embedded, and trusted advisor to the site Executive team.

What we’re looking for:

  • Demonstrated HR leadership experience within a large, complex and unionised environment.  HR Business Partners with some leadership experience will also be considered;

  • Experience in healthcare, community services, aged care or similarly operational, workforce-intensive sectors will be highly regarded;

  • A pragmatic, resilient and collaborative approach, with the ability to work at pace in a high demand setting; and

  • A genuine desire to contribute to an organisation that delivers essential services to the community.
