Lead industrial relations strategy for a leading Queensland infrastructure organisation, providing expert advice across complex IR matters, union relationships, enterprise bargaining and compliance. Partner with senior leaders and People & Culture to drive contemporary, commercially focused industrial relations outcomes.
Key responsibilities
Lead the development and implementation of the organisation’s IR strategy;
Build and maintain strong relationships with unions and employee representatives;
Lead enterprise agreement negotiations, committees and associated activities;
Provide strategic advice to senior leaders and HR Business Partners on complex IR and ER matters;
Lead complex workplace investigations and provide specialist employee relations advice;
Monitor legislative and regulatory changes and ensure ongoing IR compliance;
Analyse employee relations data, identify emerging risks and recommend proactive initiatives; and
Provide specialist IR advice across major infrastructure projects and support consistent P&C practices.
You will be an experienced IR professional with a strong background in complex, unionised environments, ideally within infrastructure or a similarly operationally complex industry. You will bring strong enterprise bargaining experience, sound legislative knowledge and the confidence to influence senior stakeholders while building productive relationships with unions and employees.
Key requirements
7+ years’ experience across industrial or employee relations;
Proven experience leading enterprise agreement negotiations and implementation;
Strong infrastructure, construction, utilities or similarly complex industry experience;
Demonstrated experience managing union relationships and stakeholder engagement;
Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and industrial relations frameworks;
Experience providing strategic advice to senior leaders and HR teams;
Degree qualification in HR, Business or a relevant discipline; and
Commercially minded, pragmatic and confident navigating complex IR matters.
