Working as part of a People & Culture team, this 12-month fixed-term contract will have a strong focus on industrial relations, modern award interpretation and workforce compliance across a diverse mix of permanent and casual employees.

The role:

Working closely with the People & Culture team, Payroll and operational stakeholders, you will:

  • Provide practical industrial relations advice and support across the business;

  • Interpret and apply multiple modern awards across a diverse employee population;

  • Advise on penalty rates, overtime, allowances, TOIL, rostering and public holiday provisions;

  • Partner with Payroll to support accurate application of award conditions and resolve queries as they arise;

  • Provide advice relating to a highly casualised workforce operating across varied hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays;

  • Review current practices and support improvements to processes and compliance;

  • Assist with consultation, disputes and other industrial matters as required; and

  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and translate complex IR matters into clear, practical advice.

About you:

  • Strong experience working within a complex, multi-award environment;

  • Demonstrated experience personally interpreting and applying modern awards;

  • Experience supporting operational and/or highly casualised workforces;

  • Sound knowledge of the Fair Work Act and Australian employment legislation;

  • Confidence advising on penalties, overtime, allowances, rostering and other award provisions;

  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate technical information in a practical and accessible way; and
