Our client is a well-established Australian organisation with a national footprint and a growing technology function. They are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join their team and play a key role in maintaining, improving, and modernising their core infrastructure environment.

The Opportunity
As part of a collaborative infrastructure team, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and security of the organisation's technology environment.
You'll work across cloud platforms, Microsoft technologies, virtual infrastructure, networking, storage, and enterprise systems while contributing to ongoing technology transformation initiatives.
This role offers a mix of operational support, project delivery, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and support the organisation's server, storage, virtualisation, and cloud infrastructure;
Administer Microsoft Windows Server environments and Active Directory;
Manage Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and Entra ID;
Support Azure infrastructure and cloud-based services;
Monitor infrastructure performance and proactively resolve issues;
Assist with backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning;
Support network infrastructure including switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless technologies;
Deliver infrastructure projects including upgrades, migrations, and technology improvements;
Work closely with Service Desk and broader technology teams to resolve complex technical issues; and
Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
About You
You are a technically capable Infrastructure Engineer who enjoys troubleshooting, delivering projects, and continuously improving technology environments.
You'll ideally bring:
Experience working as an Infrastructure Engineer, Systems Engineer, or Senior Systems Administrator;
Strong Microsoft server administration experience;
Experience supporting Microsoft 365 and Azure environments;
Solid understanding of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Entra ID;
Experience with VMware and/or Hyper-V;
Exposure to networking technologies including firewalls, switching, routing, and VPNs;
Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions;
Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving; and
Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with both technical and business stakeholders.
Experience with technologies such as Intune, SCCM, PowerShell, Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Veeam, or Azure Virtual Desktop will be highly regarded.
