Are you a proactive internal auditor who thrives on building relationships and influencing positive change? Our client, a leading Australian agribusiness, is seeking a permanent Internal Auditor to join their Brisbane based team. This is a unique opportunity for someone who can balance operational engagement with executive reporting, provide actionable recommendations, and support a strong culture of safety across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute internal audit plans across finance, production, risk, safety, compliance, and natural capital activities;

• Conduct audits at operational sites and office locations, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement;

• Build rapport with station managers and operational staff to gather information, promote compliance, and foster a positive safety culture;

• Present audit findings and recommendations clearly to executive leadership and Audit & Risk Committees;

• Monitor adherence to regulatory requirements, including safety, environmental, and operational standards;

• Contribute to risk management processes, including reviews of risk frameworks and the organisational risk register;

• Provide practical, actionable recommendations to improve processes, mitigate risks, and enhance operational efficiency; and

• Travel as required to support audits and build relationships across the business.

About You

• Proven internal auditing experience within an agribusiness or operational environment;

• Strong communication skills, able to engage both operational teams and executives;

• Analytical and proactive, with the confidence to take initiative and provide clear recommendations;

• Demonstrated ability to influence a positive safety culture;

• Current motor vehicle licence (manual) and advanced first aid certificate; and

• Relevant tertiary qualification and professional certification (CPA, CIA, or CISA) preferred.
