A large, purpose-led Not-for-Profit organisation is seeking an experienced IT Manager to lead and uplift its technology function during a period of strong organisational growth and transformation. 
 
This is a newly created role, offering the opportunity to shape technology capability, governance, and delivery from the ground up. 
 
Reporting to the Head of Digital, the IT Manager will take ownership of the organisation’s technology function, balancing hands-on delivery with strategic leadership. 
 
You will lead a small internal team and manage external vendors, while supporting a geographically dispersed workforce that includes regional staff and volunteer groups. 
 
Key responsibilities include:

• Providing technology leadership, governance, and direction;

• Uplifting and modernising existing systems and platforms;

• Developing IT policies, frameworks, and governance structures;

• Strengthening risk management and operational maturity;

• Strong understanding of infrastructure, networking, and security;

• Experience working across hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud);

• Proven ability to manage vendors and MSPs; and

• Partnering closely with senior stakeholders to align technology with organisational goals.

Technology Environment

• Fully cloud-based systems;

• Strong cyber security posture with an active Cyber Security Roadmap; and

• Opportunity to improve integrations, standardisation, and user experience.

About You

You are a pragmatic IT leader who enjoys building structure, capability, and confidence in developing environments. 
 
You will bring:

• Proven experience in IT leadership or IT management roles;

• Strong understanding of cloud-based technologies and SaaS platforms;

• Experience uplifting technology maturity, governance, and processes;

• Ability to work with both internal teams and external vendors;

• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills;

• Experience in the NFP or charity sector (highly regarded); and

• Confidence working with volunteer groups and non-technical users.
