About the Role:
u&u Recruitment Partners are delighted to partner exclusively with Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI) to recruit several key positions within their Technology Office.
We are currently seeking an experienced IT Process Designer, Security & Service Management to join a dedicated project squad responsible for designing and embedding robust IT processes that support the Institute’s security, risk and service management objectives.
This role will focus on designing pragmatic, well-governed and auditable processes aligned to ISO/IEC 27001 information security standards and IT Service Management (ITSM) best practices. Working closely with Cyber Security, IT Operations, Service Management and Risk stakeholders, you will translate complex regulatory and operational requirements into clear, scalable and well-documented processes that support operational resilience and compliance.
This is a fixed-term 12-month contract opportunity supporting a defined program of work within the Institute’s technology environment.
Based at the Melbourne Children’s Campus in Parkville, this role offers flexible and hybrid working arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:
Analyse, design and implement IT processes aligned to ISO/IEC 27001 and ITSM best practices;
Conduct current-state analysis, gap assessments and future-state process design;
Develop scalable and resilient processes supporting security, service management and risk governance;
Establish process governance frameworks including ownership, approval and review cycles;
Ensure process documentation supports audit readiness and regulatory compliance;
Produce clear documentation including process flows, SOPs, RACI matrices and operational guides;
Maintain process artefacts within agreed documentation repositories and knowledge systems;
Work closely with cybersecurity, IT operations, risk and service management teams to embed processes;
Translate complex security and operational requirements into practical and usable procedures; and
Support process rollout including stakeholder engagement, communications and adoption.
About You:
To be successful in this role you will bring:
Demonstrated experience designing and documenting IT processes and governance frameworks;
Strong understanding of ISO/IEC 27001 and information security control frameworks;
Experience designing or improving IT Service Management processes such as incident, change, problem or request management;
Strong analytical capability including process mapping, gap analysis and risk-based thinking;
Excellent documentation and communication skills with the ability to translate complex requirements into clear processes; and
Proven ability to engage with technical teams, security specialists and operational stakeholders.
Experience supporting ISO 27001 certification activities, working within regulated environments, or using ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow or Ivanti will be highly regarded.
Relevant certifications such as ITIL, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer or COBIT will also be considered advantageous.
