Are you an IT Security Analyst looking for a hands-on role where you'll help strengthen cyber security, manage technology risk and work closely with both internal stakeholders and external security partners?

We're partnering with a well-established, ASX-listed digital financial services group seeking an experienced IT Security Analyst to join their Melbourne team. This is an initial 3-month daily rate contract with a strong appetite to either extend or appoint permanently for the right individual.

My client are looking to move quickly, with interviews commencing immediately and an ideal start date from 8 July.

About the Role:

You will play an important role in maintaining and improving the organisation's security posture across technology, vendors and operational processes. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing day-to-day security operations with governance, risk and compliance responsibilities in a highly regulated environment.

You will:

  • Monitor and assess security events, risks and emerging threats, coordinating appropriate responses where required;

  • Support vulnerability management, patch compliance and remediation activities;

  • Review security assessments and penetration testing outcomes, ensuring findings are appropriately addressed;

  • Assist with security governance, risk assessments, control reviews and compliance activities;

  • Contribute to APRA CPS234 obligations and broader information security initiatives;

  • Work closely with managed security providers, technology vendors and internal stakeholders to maintain a strong security posture;

  • Support access management, security documentation and reporting; and

  • Help drive security awareness and continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation.

About You:

Experience working in an IT Security Analyst or Cyber Security role within APRA CPS234 or similar regulatory security frameworks (banking, finance, superannuation, insurance etc.) is essential for this role.

Furthermore, you'll bring:

  • A solid understanding of security operations, cyber risk and security controls;

  • Experience supporting vulnerability management, incident response and security monitoring activities;

  • Confidence interpreting security findings and working collaboratively with internal teams and external security providers;

  • Exposure to cloud security concepts within Azure, AWS or similar enterprise environments; and

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and business stakeholders.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative, values-led organisation where you'll gain broad exposure across cyber security, governance and operational risk while contributing to the protection of critical technology services.

Applications close COB Monday, 6 July at the very latest.
