Our client is a leading Australian organisation with a large national footprint and a strong focus on technology, innovation, and operational excellence. They are currently looking for a Security Engineer to join their growing technology team and play a key role in protecting their systems, data, and users.
This is an opportunity for a hands-on security professional who enjoys working across a broad security landscape, improving controls, responding to threats, and partnering with stakeholders across the business.
The Opportunity
Reporting into the Cyber Security leadership team, you will be responsible for supporting the ongoing uplift of security capabilities across the organisation.
You will work across security operations, vulnerability management, incident response, security tooling, and governance initiatives while collaborating closely with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams.
This role would suit someone who enjoys being technically hands-on while also contributing ideas and helping mature security practices.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor, investigate, and respond to security alerts and incidents;
Support security operations and threat detection activities;
Perform vulnerability management activities including identification, prioritisation, and remediation tracking;
Assist with security assessments, risk reviews, and improving security controls;
Support endpoint security, identity, access management, and cloud security initiatives;
Work with internal technology teams to embed security best practices;
Contribute to security improvement projects and ongoing cyber maturity uplift; and
Assist with security documentation, reporting, and compliance activities.
About You
You will be a proactive security professional who enjoys solving problems and working collaboratively across a business.
You will ideally have:
Experience working in a Security Engineer, Cyber Security Analyst, or similar role;
Strong understanding of security principles, controls, and threat management;
Experience with security monitoring tools / SIEM platforms;
Exposure to vulnerability management and remediation processes;
Knowledge of Microsoft security technologies, cloud security, and identity management;
Experience working with incident response processes; and
Strong communication skills and the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Relevant certifications such as Security+, AZ-500, SC-200, CISSP, or similar will be highly regarded.
