A major Australian ASX-listed organisation is seeking a commercially astute and delivery-focused Learning & Capability Manager to shape and embed a contemporary enterprise capability framework while driving a multi-year People & Culture transformation program. This role would suit an OD or Learning Lead looking to step into a broader culture, capability, and change portfolio in a permanent capacity.

This newly created role brings together strategic capability design and enterprise-wide learning program delivery. Reporting to the Head of Human Resources and based in Sydney, you will play a critical role in uplifting organisational capability, strengthening leadership and workforce development frameworks, and embedding modern learning practices across a national footprint of a white collar and blue collar workforce.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a true build-and-shape job, establishing core capability architecture while coordinating high-priority People & Culture initiatives from concept through to sustained adoption.

What Your Role Will Look Like:

  • Design and deliver targeted learning programs aligned to organisational strategy, including leadership and priority capability areas;

  • Translate business needs into practical, bite-sized learning content, toolkits and consistent ways of working;

  • Facilitate workshops, learning sessions and capability uplift activities, while building internal capability through coaching and train-the-trainer approaches;

  • Lead compliance training strategy, including mandatory requirements, induction pathways, and alignment across employees, contractors and subcontractors;

  • Own learning systems, content libraries and frameworks, ensuring accessible, standardised and scalable learning resources; and

  • Monitor, report and continuously improve learning effectiveness, using insights to refine programs, address capability gaps and guide the learning roadmap.

What You Bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in learning, capability or workforce development roles within a complex, multi-site and operational environment, with a mix of blue collar and white collar workforces;

  • Skilled in building capability frameworks, learning pathways, onboarding/induction programs, and role-based development approaches;

  • Experience managing compliance training (calendars, content, refresh cycles) and working with learning systems, registers, and content platforms;

  • Relevant qualifications in Learning & Development, HR, Education, or related fields (or equivalent practical experience);

  • Strong learning design, facilitation, and stakeholder partnering skills, with the ability to translate business needs into clear, practical, bite-sized learning solutions; and

  • Commercially minded and adaptable, combining strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, using data, feedback, and structured approaches to drive continuous improvement.
