About the Role
A highly regarded national commercial law firm, recognised for its market-leading work and collaborative culture, is seeking a Legal Assistant to join its Brisbane office on a temporary basis for 2–4 weeks, with an immediate start. This is a great short-term opportunity to gain exposure within a top-tier environment while supporting a busy, well-established practice.
The role sits within a large Energy & Resources group, supporting a team of Partners and lawyers. The support model is highly collaborative, with Practice Assistants sharing workloads and supporting one another across billing and day-to-day administration. This temp assignment has arisen due to recent team changes and offers strong on-the-job support and handover.
Why This Role is a Great Opportunity
This assignment is ideal for a Legal Assistant who is early in their career and keen to build experience within a high-performing commercial firm. You’ll gain hands-on exposure to Partner-level support, billing processes and large-firm systems, while working alongside experienced PAs in a structured and supportive team. It’s a valuable opportunity to strengthen your skill set, build confidence and add a highly regarded firm to your CV.
Role Responsibilities
You will provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support, including diary and email management, document preparation, matter administration and file management. You will assist with billing processes, including monthly billing, pre-bills and reporting using Aderant, as well as coordinating meetings and travel. The role also involves managing phone and email correspondence and working closely with other PAs to share workflow and support the broader team.
About You
You have at least one year of experience as a Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary and bring a strong administrative foundation, professional approach and great initiative. Experience in Energy & Resources is advantageous but not essential, candidates from other practice areas are encouraged to apply.
You are organised, detail-oriented and able to manage competing priorities. You’re comfortable supporting senior stakeholders, confident using legal systems and Microsoft Office and enjoy working in an office-based, collaborative environment.
