I’m currently working with a leading global law firm based in Sydney CBD to recruit an experienced Legal Assistant to support a highly regarded Senior Partner and their Corporate/M&A team.
This is a busy and highly respected practice group, working on complex and high-profile matters. The Partner is calm, well-established within the firm, and is looking for someone to become their right hand and help keep the practice running smoothly.
The role sits within a collaborative and well-structured firm that is known for its strong internal support, systems and training. Support staff are genuinely valued, with clear pathways for development and long-term career growth.
What you'll be doing
Working closely with a senior Partner and a well-established team, you'll play a key role in keeping the practice running smoothly.
Your day-to-day will include:
Managing complex diaries, inboxes and changing priorities;
Preparing correspondence, legal documents and matter-related administration;
Coordinating meetings, travel and client communications;
Building strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders;
Looking after billing, including pre-bills, amendments and finalisation;
Monitoring key deadlines and helping to keep matters on track;
Identifying opportunities to improve processes and embrace new technology; and
Working closely with the wider support team to ensure seamless service delivery.
What we're looking for
You'll have previous experience in a Legal Assistant or senior legal support role within a law firm or professional services environment. You're organised, proactive and enjoy supporting senior stakeholders in a fast-paced practice.
We're also looking for someone who has:
Experience managing billing and matter administration;
Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle competing priorities;
Excellent attention to detail and sound judgement when handling confidential information;
A collaborative approach and willingness to support and mentor junior team members;
A client-focused mindset and a genuine passion for providing exceptional support; and
An interest in improving processes and embracing new technology, including AI.
