This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing General Insurance team within a highly regarded national law firm. Based in Sydney CBD, you will work closely with a supportive and approachable Principal and a close-knit team of lawyers across a broad range of insurance matters including CTP, public liability, recoveries and property damage.
The Principal Lawyer you will support is known for being highly approachable, down-to-earth and genuinely invested in her team. She is someone who values collaboration, provides clear guidance and is looking for a Legal Assistant who will become a trusted support to her and the wider practice. You will also have the support of two experienced Senior Legal Assistants within the team, giving you the opportunity to learn from others and be part of a supportive and collaborative environment.
You will be responsible for:
Supporting lawyers with day-to-day matter management across a busy Insurance Litigation practice;
Preparing legal documents, correspondence, briefs and court documentation;
Opening new matters, completing conflict checks and maintaining accurate file records;
Liaising with clients, courts, counsel and external stakeholders;
Assisting with monthly billing, WIP management and debtor processes; and
Managing competing priorities while providing proactive administrative support to the wider team.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
2+ years’ experience as a Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary within a law firm;
Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail;
The ability to manage a busy workload and work to deadlines;
A proactive approach with the confidence to take ownership of tasks;
Strong written and verbal communication skills; and
A collaborative and team-focused attitude.
