Join a top-tier global law firm in Sydney on a part-time, 12-month parental leave contract, supporting a busy Corporate team. While the contract is set for 12 months, law firms are always evolving, so there's often scope for things to extend or change down the track.

You'll work Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, please note these days are fixed and essential for the duration of the contract. You'll be working as part of a job-share arrangement alongside another experienced, part-time Legal Assistant one day a week, someone described as approachable and easy to work.

About the role

This is a great opportunity for a confident, organised and proactive Legal Assistant to provide high-level support to two Partners and two Senior Associates within a high-performing, fast-paced practice. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing complex diaries, inboxes, workflows and competing priorities;

  • Preparing, formatting and managing correspondence, documents and matter administration;

  • Coordinating internal and client meetings, calls, events and travel arrangements;

  • Liaising confidently with clients, internal stakeholders and external parties;

  • Managing billing processes, including pre-bills, edits, finalisation and cost reporting; and

  • Working collaboratively with other Legal Assistants, while helping identify efficient ways of working, including the use of AI and technology.

Please note, this position is not suitable for law students.

About you

  • Experience as a Legal Assistant or senior legal support professional within a legal or professional services environment;

  • Strong experience supporting senior stakeholders, with a calm, organised and proactive approach;

  • Excellent judgement, discretion and confidence managing sensitive matters;

  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines;

  • Experience with billing, reporting and matter management systems; and

  • A commitment to mentoring junior team members, with a curious, innovative mindset open to AI and emerging technologies.

Why you'll love working here

  • Join a world-leading, top-tier global law firm with a strong local and international presence;

  • Excellent employee benefits, including a well-being fund and home office allowance;

  • Weekly team lunches;

  • Flexibility with 1 day WFH; and

  • Salary up to $105,000 package pro rata.
