I’m partnering with a well-established national law firm on a Legal Assistant role within their Risks team in Sydney. This position would suit someone at a junior to intermediate level who’s looking to take the next step and continue building their skills in a strong team.
This is a newly created role, offering a great opportunity to step into a position where you can add value and grow over time. The team is known for being approachable and supportive, with a culture that’s collaborative and respectful. There’s also a flexible, hybrid working model in place with 2 days WFH.
The Role
You’ll be supporting a Principal Lawyer and a team of lawyers in a busy practice area, working across a range of matters. It’s a fast-moving environment with a steady workflow and a good mix of responsibilities.
Day-to-day, this will involve:
Providing administrative and file management support;
Assisting with billing;
Liaising with clients, courts and internal teams;
Opening new matters and running conflict checks;
Drafting and formatting legal documents and correspondence; and
Supporting reporting and general team requirements.
About You
You’ll have previous experience in a legal support role and be comfortable managing competing priorities. Exposure to insurance work is helpful but not essential.
You’ll likely:
Be organised with strong attention to detail;
Take ownership of your work and support those around you;
Bring a positive, proactive approach;
Communicate clearly and manage your time well; and
Be motivated to learn and develop.
Why this role?
Newly created role with scope to grow;
Friendly, inclusive team environment;
Hybrid working with 2 days WFH;
Ongoing learning and development opportunities; and
A firm that invests in its people.
