About the Role:
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Legal Assistant to join a high-performing Brisbane Family Law team on a full-time basis. This is a proactive support role, working closely with senior and junior lawyers to manage workflows, anticipate needs, and ensure the seamless running of matters and client relationships.
This is not a traditional, reactive Legal Assistant role. The successful candidate will manage operational and administrative aspects of matters, allowing lawyers to focus solely on legal work.
Key Responsibilities:
Liaise with clients, solicitors, mediators and barristers;
Prepare and format legal documents and correspondence;
Manage end-to-end billing, including debtor management;
Diary management and workflow coordination; and
Handle filing, archiving and safe custody.
About You:
Minimum two years’ experience as a Legal Assistant in a law firm or professional services environment;
Experience in Family Law advantageous;
Strong understanding of legal processes, confidentiality and deadlines;
Excellent communication skills, organisation and commercial awareness;
Proactive, solutions-focused, and confident in anticipating needs and making suggestions; and
Able to build strong relationships with lawyers and manage workloads efficiently.
